چکیده

to assess the sources, entry routes and degree of contamination of pah compounds in surface sediments of the southwestern caspian sea coasts (gillan province) total of 129 surface sediment samples from 28 rivers and 5 transect across the gillan province coasts (from astara to lahijan; 10, 20 and 50 m depth) were collected in the spring and summer of 2012. after extraction using soxhlet method, the samples were analysed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (gc-ms) and concentrations of 30 pah compounds were determined. the mean of total 30 pah compounds (tpah30) in the coastal sediments (565.1±266.1 ng g-1) have shown significant difference (p

Distribution and sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the surface sediments of Gorgan Bay, Caspian Sea.

The level and source of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were investigated in the surface sediments from the Gorgan Bay, Caspian Sea. The sum of 16 PAHs (ΣPAH16) concentrations varied from 107.87 to 516.18 ng g(-1)dry weight, with average value of 270.96 ± 150.47 ng g(-1)dry weight. Ecological risk assessment of PAHs, indicated that adverse biological effects caused by acenaphthene, n...

الگوی پراکنش و تعیین منشاء هیدروکربن‌های چند حلقه‌ای معطر در رسوبات سواحل جنوب غربی دریای خزر: استان گیلان

Background and Objectives: Few investigations on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface sediments have reported medium to high petrogenic contamination at the southwest coasts of the Caspian Sea. The aim of this study was to investigate distribution and potential sources of 16 PAH compounds in surface sediments of the southwest coasts of the Caspian Sea (Gillan province). Materials ...

Source apportionment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface sediments of the Huangpu River, Shanghai, China.

We applied cluster analysis and principal component analysis (PCA) with multivariate linear regression (MLR) to apportion sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface sediments of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China, based on the measured PAH concentrations of 32 samples collected at eight sites in four seasons in 2006. The results indicate that petrogenic and pyrogenic source...

Source Apportionment of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediments from Chalong Bay, Phuket, Thailand

The potential sources of 16 PAHs in surface sediments from highly tourism activities of Chalong bay, Phuket province, Thailand were apportioned. Twenty-eight of sediment samples were collected by using van Veen grab Sampler from Chalong bay, Phuket. Quantitative analysis of the 16 PAHs which categorized according to the USEPA was analyzed by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS). Moreove...

Biodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...

Identification of the Sources of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Sediments from the Romanian Black Sea Sector

The objective of the study was to determine the concentration of total PAHs and to identify the potential sources of contamination in sediments from the Romanian Black Sea sector. Sixteen priority polycyclic hydrocarbons were identified and determined quantitatively in samples of sediment collected from marine areas (depths over 20 m) from the 12 stations located between Sulina and Mangalia, du...
